Our Story

Our story

Artshop Framing and Artists’ Supplies was founded in 1991 at 4 Laurel Street, Toowoomba by Ian Lloyd as a framing studio primarily serving the South East Queensland artists community. Around the same time, Sydney born-and-bred Cherylyn Russell was gaining a large and highly specialised range of framing and display skills serving Sydney and surrounds residents, corporates, interiors, music and advertising industries.

At Ian’s invitation, Cherylyn Russell relocated to Toowoomba to assume management of Artshop in 1998 and in 1999 purchased Artshop, repositioned the business as ARTSHOP Fine Custom Framing and Art Restoration and went on to train ARTSHOP’s staff in museum-standard custom framing practices. The team then educated ARTSHOP’s existing loyal clientele about best practice art and object framing and preservation and saw the business grow as word of mouth took over.

In 2007, ARTSHOP relocated to support growth, custom-renovating premises at 12 Bowen Street, Toowoomba. This beautiful studio provides an inspirational and convenient design experience locale for ARTSHOP's discerning clientele, with a dust-free, climate-controlled and scalable assembly and production facility.
